Comments: What a lovely site, it is just like going "home". I
was born in Arichat hospital, but lived in D'Escousse until I was almost
10, then moved to Ontario in 1975. I attened North Isle Madame Elementary
School until grade 3. My father owned a business in Port Hawksbury
in the 70's. I have wonderful memories as a child of growing up in
a truly beautiful town. I had so much fun picking berries, swimming
at the shore, catching minnows, going in the woods... I remember the weekly
trips to go grocery shopping at the IGA in Arichat and the trips to Port
Hawksbury. Although Ontario is beautiful too and I am settled here
with my four children now, a huge piece of my heart is in Isle madame and
it will be there forever. I have been back a few times, in 1980,
1988 and 2001. I plan to go back maybe next summer and bring my four
kids. I remember our beautiful churh, St. Hyachinte's as well, where
I was baptized, and made my first communion and confirmation. Although
I have lost touch with everyone I knew there and went to school with, I
still think of them now and then. Most of my family has moved on
as well, but I will still come back now and then. Thanks again for
such a nice site to show my kids and tell my little story, and hopefully
some of my old school friends will remember me and drop me a line or two
in an email and say hello and tell me what they have been up to for the
past 30 years!!

I would like to thank you for all the work and time you put into this site, and I sincerely hope it continues to thrive. God bless. Date: 10/2/2006 Name: John Pazour Location: Longmont, Colorado, USA E-Mail: johnpazour@earthlink.net Comments: On Sunday morning Sept 10 2006 my wife and I were touring
near Sand Beach or Kelly Cove. When I backed up my rental car to get a
better angle for a photo, I backed into a roadside ditch and became hopelessly
stuck. A nearby church was having a fundraising event that day and
several cars drove up. Every single person stopped and asked if they
could help. One gentleman with a handicapped sticker on his mirror
got out and tried to help me push the vehicle out. Then he went to
try to find someone with a tow truck. Another man came up with his
Ford Diesel pickup and took time from his church event to get out a rope
and spend a half hour getting us out. The people in Nova Scotia have
always been wonderful, but this was beyond my imagination. The gracious
people who helped us would not take any payment, but I would like to get
the address of a church in that area to send a small donation. Could
you help me with the name and address of some small area church that I
could mail it to?

I visit this site often, and each time, I want to return to where I was born and raised, Wedgeport. I miss the coastal atmosphere: sights, sounds, smells, mist, and of course, the greatest seafood anywhere. I've eaten a seafood plater in St. Malo, France. It was good, but not as good as what the Yarmouth area offers. Everyone, keep supporting this great site, where thoes of us who live away, can always come home with a double-click. Thanks for everything, Godfrey

Date: 10/5/2006 Name: Doug Armstrong Location: United states, North Carolina E-Mail: darmstrong1@mchsi.com Comments: My wife and I have been to Canada about 20 times,
we finally decided to buy and did buy a piece of Heaven on the water in
Yarmouth. The people there are the most friendly people I have ever met
in my entire life. The land, the views and the community are fantastic.
We plan on retiring and moving up there in about 8 years and are really
looking forward to it. I know it will be the place to spend the rest of
our lives. I was born in the United States but my Grandfather was from
a small fishing village in Canada, so I am told, so I wanted to know more
about Canada, I discovered that Your Country is a Great one like My Grandfather
was. I really never knew him as He passed away in 1946. I was born in 1959.
If He was anything like The People of Yarmouth He was a Great Man. Keep
being Yourselves, people on this earth that kind are hard to find. See
Ya in 8 years and 3 or three times during the year until then. Doug

Comments: Hello again, I did not see the photo gallery the previous times I've visited the site. A lady I know out this way (b.c.) asked if it was St. John's Anglican church was the one built by my family. Actually, it was St. George's Chapel in Cape La Ronde (Mauger Rd.) that Was built by my uncle George Mauger (the older George - now deceased ... not to be confused with my 1st cousin George Mauger... still very much alive... who lives in at the Cape still) and John Mauger who was my grandfather. My father "Johnny Mauger" died in 1998. The history and heritage we share is wonderful... I tell the stories of 'back home' all the time. My son and I had a blast back home this Summer and look forward to another Summer there in 2007. Fair Winds and Following Seas, Billy Mauger

Date: 11/4/2006 Name: linda Location: ottawa E-Mail: byran.mason2001@rogers.com Comments: Three years ago my husband and I made the decision that we
would retire in Nova Scotia. Because my husband was a Navel Officers
we have lived from Newfoundland to British Columbia,, (in fact we tell
our friends that our daughter started school in B.C. and our son five years
later in Nfld.) When we did make the decision to move back I told my husband
that I would make the choice of where we would live, and I chose the quiet
little village of Sluice Point and we were very fortunate to by four heavenly
acreas on the ocean. When I spoke today with a dear friend of mine
from Amerault's Hill she was busy preparing for a fund raiser for a little
boy who was born with spina bifada. The community has come together
to raise funds so he can buy an electric wheel chair. There will
be bake sales, rappie pie and seefood chowder as well as a card social
and a dance. Why do I write this, you might ask? Because I
notice that you have submission from all over the world and I want people
to see how your communities come to-gether to take care of their own.
When friends ask why I would want to move to such a small area away from
it all, and not a big city, I tell them that I am not away from it all,
I am in the middle of it all.

guest book I came across a name that looked familiar, responded , but did
not get a reply until 8 or 9 months later. I was so excited when I got
confirmation that it was my long lost friend of 50 YEARS ago. The timing
was perfect as she was making a trip to Yarmouth within the month. Of course
we made plans to get in touch, we had a wonderful time playing catch-up
and reminiscing. It was so special to see my friend that I shared so many
girlhood memories with. Iwould like to say a HUGE THANK YOU for making
it possible. This site is amazing!
