Comments: I was born in Hebron ,Yarmouth County, 27 Aug 1933. Spent
17 years in Yarmouth living at one time at 428 Main St,
across from Grand Hotel. Joined RCAF in 1951 and came back "home" in
1994 for about 3 days to visit my mother
who moved from Yarmouth to Hamilton ON and then back to Nova Scotia,
at Shag Harbour where she died in 1995. For
the past couple of months I have been doing some research on my grandfather,
Wilson Arthur Cook and others and at
present time have a lady at the museum helping with this. Anyone
remeber me or family George W. Cooke
Comments: My mother, Alice Jeffrey Smith was born and raised in Port Maitland. I last visited in 1981, and am hoping to get back for a visit soon. My brothers and sister spent many happy summers in the 1930s visiting our cousins, Lorna, Bob, and Myrtis Smith. I wanted to know if the house where the Jeffrey family lived (on the Shore Road) still stands?
Comments: Thank you for your wonderful site. I am especially grateful for the maps showing locations of Black settlements. I am trying to find my grandfather's family and I just learned more about African Canadians from your site than I have in the last 3 months.
God bless you and your work,
Judy Lang
Comments: this is ridiculous, the information concerning Greenville
is misleading and incomplete. If you ever study another area do me
and my family a favour and dont let anyone see it. you should be
embarrased, and exactly where did you gain your information.

Comments: I love your page, however disappointed in the fact--no map
of my beloved Yarmouth. I am writing my memoirs and lived on Commercial
St. until eight years of age. Back in the late '30's I recall a Street
or Road near us, which was either East St., or East Rd. I intend to incorporate
that in my life story, however not sure which it was. Can you verify for
me?
Thank You,
Eleanor C. (LeBlanc) Dickens

Comments: I went to Nova Scotia with my husband once when we were first married. We've now been married 30 years almost and would like to go again sometime soon. I have been collecting information so we can plan a trip maybe for the fall.

Comments: I am from Sandford, Yarmouth Co. and I liked the website, however, there are multiple errors in the correct spelling of "Sandford". On the Sandford site and on the opening page, it is spelled incorrectly as Sanford. The spelling changes throughout the Sandford page. Sandford also used to be called Cranberry Head.

Comments: Long, long ago (1959-60) I was one of the Bakers who owned a cottage on the Perry Road in Carleton. This place will always have a special piece of my heart. The lake, Merrywood, Fanning Cottage, the Strawberry Box, Buzz Baker's log cabin, Greg Cann's place, all hold happy memories. Every July 17th the family gathered at Fanning Cottage for a corn boil. I still feel as though I MUST eat my first sweet corn of the season on that date. We gave some books to the little Carleton Library and I made good use of its resources. I wonder if it still exists?

Comments: My husband, myself and ten children, formerly resided a 2
Marsha Avenue in Yarmouth. Originally from Weymouth, N.S. Yarmouth was
home from 1966-1969. Interested in anyone remebering us, and would have
been acquainted with us. Our lives in Yarmouth were very happy ones, and
we have great affection for that part of the country in it. Former neighbours,
would have included: James&Bernice Le Blanc, 58 King Street, Carol&Gerry
LeBlanc(children:Kenneth). The Whitehead 's on the corner of Marsha and
King Street. The Hatfield's and Armstrongs also of Marsha Avenue. Really
enjoyed going through the Yarmouth Web Site bringing back fond memories
. Will be interested in hearing from anyone who remembers us, and will
reply to contact by E-Mail or : Anne Alain at 2411 Rondel Street, Ottawa,

area is not complete without a trip to Port Maitland. Thank you, somebody,
for taking the time to put it on the web.
