Comments: Visited Yarmouth last spring while researching my BROWN
family....great town!!My grgrgrandfather was Samuel H. Brown b.11 Sep 1814
who worked as a ship's carpenter I was not able to "find" his parents but
did visit his grave in the Pioneers Cemetery. Loved your town and had some
great food there. I would enjoy e-mailing anyone who lives in Yarmouth
( or nearby) and has family roots in Yarmouth!

My family "Eskins," "Ruggles," was from Yarmouth. I was born there
in 1943, and left in 1955 or thereabout to move to Montreal. I lived
on Lewis Street with my grandparents Zeb and Georgina Desbiens. I
keep in touch with several old childhood friends from Yarmouth, Betty Ann
Surette and Jeannie O'Connell (Geheu). My family and I just returned
from a week long vacation trip to Yarmouth. It is growing by leaps
and bounds, but I still recognize the place. Loved shopping at Davis
Bros. which is still the same. We had a reunion about 11 years ago
wish someone from Southend school would put on another one. Hope
someone reads this and can connect.

Comments: You have a famous daughter , Lyse Doucet. An article appeared
in the English newspaper the Guardian, on January 8th explaining her recent
success and where she comes from. And it solved the question of where her
fascinating accent originates.

Comments: I have been having a thoroughly wonderful time reading some
of the history of Cape Forchu. My mother used to spend her summers there
with her grandmother and grandfather Captain Ansel and Annie Crosby and
told me many stories of her times there. Ansel Crosby was the manager of
the Markland Hotel for a while. I have a plate which Mum always referred
to as 'The Yarmouth plate'. It has pictures of the Markland Hotel, the
Lighthouse and other local places. She left it to me when she died.
Mum wrote down the stories of her time in Yarmouth and I still have
them and treasure them.
I will revisit your site when I have more time. It is excellent!

Comments: Doing Research on Sparks family line.
I am looking for Margarete Louise Sparks, who would be approximately 70 years old now and perhaps living in Maritimes. ML Sparks is probably of African American descent and could have been stationed in Montreal in 1957. Anyone with information please contact me. URGENT. Thank you.
