Comments: Many years ago, when I was 13 or 14 years old, my family took
a trip to New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. I remember some of the sites
we visited. I'm thinking of going back because I remember how beautiful
and rich in culture.

Comments: My grandmother grew up in Wedgeport until the age of nine.
Her name was Irene Pothier. She was one of five girls. They
emigrated around the turn of the last century and I have always wanted
to come and visit. My husband and three children and I may try this
summer. Thanks for a view of your lovely village from the USA.

She was a McGray? Judson was her father and I think her mothers name was Ann or Anna. She had a brother Lawson, and sister Hazel and another brother who's name escapes me. They all lived on the road to the Bar. We have visited Overton many times. My mother took us to a Viking Monument in 1968 on the bar somewhere we think. On our last visit we couldn't find it. Do you have any idea where it would be and she also spoke of a shipwreck happeninng on the backshore (1940's or 1950's)and the captain and others staying at my grandfathers house. Do you have any information on this. Thanks for your help and I hope you get your web page on Overton up and running in the very near future. I would like to see lots and lots of pictures.

Comments: I am doing a research project about sailors in my family,
and one of the people I am interested in is my great great great grandfather,
Captain Calvin Valpey. I am interested in any history about his father,
who was ship-wrecked in the Tusket isles, and imformation about the schooner
that I beleive he was captain of on his journey from Yarmouth, Nova Scotia
to San Francisco, California. It was called the "Eagle," and he took his
trip to California in 1850.

artistic talent, athletic ability and intelligence go hand in hand with
the Surette name. There are poets, artists, musicians, scientists

Comments: I am first generation born in the U. S. My father was from Carlton N. S. and my mother was from Litchfield N. S. (Annapolis Royal area) I still have relatives in both areas as well as South Ohio Yarmouth County. It is not uncommon for me to make two or three trips a year to visit family and friends in these areas. I refer to these trips as going HOME. A favorite spot to visit in Yarmouth is the museum. As a side note I met your Mayor last summer at a senior citizen function at one of your parks. A good time was had by all.

and all. It's a great place to visit, but once you delve deeper you come
up with racism, favoritism, prejudice, and the like. One would explect
that in Urban areas,but in Rural areas! It spoils a pretty picture. I have
been here since 1990 from Ontario. I can'treally say I have enjoyed the
people. If anyone is thinking about moving back to Ontario around April,
