I received a letter back from an 11-year-old girl in Nova Scotia saying
that she had found my #2 bottle while digging for clams (I was 15-years-old).
Edith LeBlanc (her childhood name) and I wrote back & forth for 3 years
as penpals until I graduated from high school. I went to college and Edith
& I lost contact with each other.

"Veg out" as my wife likes to call it, enjoy Yarmouth and it's people.
Stay at the Rodd Colony Motel just a hop, skip and jump away from the ferry

Date: 8/22/2003 Name: Dorothy Sloane Location: Rochester, New York USA E-Mail: dorosloane@frontiernet.net Comments: Three years ago my husband and I took the CAT over to Yarmouth
for a vacation. On the day we were to leave to come home, my husband
had a heart attack. He suffered very little damage to his heart and
was feeling well, but had to stay in the hospital for one week in Yarmouth.
I stayed in our hotel. I had plenty of time to explore the Yarmouth
area and found it beautiful. I felt that I was in another world, calmer
and more down to earth than where I live. I loved it. I found the
people very friendly and helpful to me. One experience I will never
forget is a day I spent alone at Cape Forchu. I took many pictures
of the lighthouse and the rocks (the lighthouse was under construction).
The area was very calming and "therapeutic" as I was worried about my husband
and a little lonely staying in a hotel. When we arrived home I couldn't
wait to get my black and white film developed. I was upset when the
processor ruined the film and I had no pictures to remind me of this special
place. I know that someday we will come back, but I would like to
find a reminder such as a model lighthouse, some pictures, etc. If
you could e-mail me with a site that I could order something, or an address
of the lighthouse gift shop I would appreciate it.
Webmaster Comment: I have taken pictures
of that area over the summer and hope to get them up within the next few
weeks..
