Comments: I know I will enjoy my very first visit in a couple weeks time.  My family has considerable Scottish heritage, but no connection to NS that I know of.  I've heard it said that Gaelic is spoken more in NS than Scotland, I wonder if that's true? Just to let you know, one of my brothers gave his wedding vows in Scots Gaelic (he did provide a translation in the wedding program, thank goodness!) and was married in a kilt to boot!  My brothers have also made Robert Burns Day into a family gathering every January.  I think I will also feel an affinity for Yarmouth because I'm a small town girl (1000 people, 37 in my high school class) from Vermont (landlocked though it is), although I live in not such a small town now, 26.2 miles from Boston ;-)

Comments: Of course, one of my favorite parts of growing up in Vermont was the fact that we had the only state capital without a McDonald's, in fact Montpelier still doesn't have one!  I notice that, for its size, Yarmouth has alot!  It looks like it still holds on to its small town charms as it becomes the major transportation/tourism hub for the region.  Good luck keeping the balance!

Cheers!

Comments: Hello,
I just wanted to let you know that I am from YARMOUTH, I moved     out of Yarmouth about a year ago.I sometimes look up what there is on the computer about back home.because some people from here have never been to Nova Scotia and sometimes it is really hard to explain what there is there. From what I have seen ,some pictures are amazing but I think that there coould be more of our little town and outside communities.Showing more of the lobster industry, and also of the fish plant workers and some waterfront festivals.
thank you

Comments: Great website. My wife goes shopping in Yarmouth everytime we visit her home in Weymouth.
I would like to find some photographs of the old Yarmouth Coastal Radio Station that opened at Rockville on January 7th, 1924, and remained there until it was moved to the Airport in the mid 1960's.

Comments: If I had my time back, I would never leave Wedgeport. But since I did, I have always had the most wonderful dreams about back home.  If I had stayed in NS, I wonder if I would have dreamt about Ontario?  A co-worker of mine, after visiting NS, came back & said to me, "Aline, are you crazy?  You left such a beautiful place to live in Toronto"
Oh well.

Comments: My beloved Kate and I took the Scotia Prince to Yarmouth for the first time last year.  After 2 days, we almost cried getting back on the Prince.  Never in either of our lives have we felt so much like we were "at home" as we did during our stay in that lovely town.  Since then, we use every chance we can to go back, and hope to someday call Nova Scotia our home.

Comments: My father, James O'Connell is from Yarmouth.  I last visited in 1972.  Presently looking for waterfront property as we are considering retiring in the area.

Oddly enough I do not know any O'Connell's in Yarmouth or if we are related.  I certainly would like to get back down and visit the site of many fond memories.
