Comments:
I used to live right in between Chebogue and Sandy Beach on the Wyman Rd. I wonder if my house is still green...great place to grow up. I still remember the view from my bedroom that looked right out across Keith's Field.

If anyone reads this and remembers me, drop me a line sometime.

Comments: i'm 65 and have never been to NOVA SCOTIA. Iknow i have an awful lot of relatives that I've never met. Ijust kind of stumbled upon this website so you can imagine my reaction seeing my name mentioned.I must say reading the history of how our family evolved makes me very proud to have the same blood.I'm still kind of numb after reading about the events.

Date: 6/6/2004
Name: JoAnne Meuse Pritchard
Location: Maryland, USA
E-Mail: pritchards3@msn.com

Comments: Believe my Meuse ancestors came to Miramichi area of New Brunswick from Nova Scotia in the early 1800's and then to the State of Maine in the 1890's. Have read the history of Philippe Muis d'Entremont and the settlement of Acadians in the Pubnico area and wondered about the possibly interesting story of our Muis/Meuse family name history and a rumored family tradition of Micmac ancestors from my grandfather born in New Brunswick. My husband and I visited the Yarmouth area (via the Blue nose Ferry) many, many years ago camping and drivng to New Brunswick --memorable trip but no time for family history. Today our daughter is very interested in her Meuse roots and is doing research in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.  Like your site . Keep up the good work.

Comments: I enjoyed your pictures of Broad Brook.  The marshes and lands along the brook are an important part of Yarmouth's environment and could become parkland, I feel.

I kayaked down Broad Brook in the early spring of 2004.  It is quite easy to paddle when the water is high, except for a stretch on both sides of the Wyman Road, where the alders and other trees have taken over.  We have pictures of that trip.

Comments: I think it is great that there is now a section on Broad Brook on this web site. This is the Town's only free flowing, freshwater stream.  It is bordered by wetlands and floodplains.  This area is valuable to the Town for flood control, groundwater replenishment, sediment and nutrient retention, water purification, wildlife and plant biodiversity, recreation and tourism, and our own cultural history. It would be wonderful to preserve and restore this brook as a public open space and park with walks and overlooks along it.

I wanted to let you know that  a clean up of Broad Brook was done last week-end.  The clean up was organized by Margrit Robinson (VP of Trepa)  and her Girl Guides.  Three other members of Trepa assisted tdhe girls.    A total of 20  garbage bags of debris were removed from the Brook, mostly consisting of  plastic grocery bags and fast food containers.

We lived on the lake next to Austin Newell, and right across the street from Tommy Carter.  I have nothing but the fondest memories of Hebron.  What a great place to grow up in!

My gf John Deveau was born in Yarmouth, 1895 and his father Louis and gf Archange were from Salmon River. We had a good search during our visit last year and concentrated on Salmon River, Digby Co but didn't come up with much. Now thinking we were looking in the wrong Salmon River. Looking forward to visiting beautiful NS again sometime in the next couple of years.
