I think Bay Ferries has made a great business decision in having the Cat leave at 8 a.m. from both Bar Harbour and Portland.  Leaving Yarmouth at 4 p.m. for both locations is also a sound business move that should increase people using the Cat and will increase tourism to Yarmouth and all of Nova Scotia for riders coming from the US and other parts of Canada.
This will also approximate the time people arrived in Portland when the Prince was running--so it will not be an inconvenience .  For Bar Harbour it will mean little change.
Riders from the lucrative Boston area will be able to take Friday off--leave early and catch the 8 a.m. run and be in wonderful Yarmouth mid-afternoon.  This will leave plenty of time to get a wonderful seafood meal, engage lodging or head further up the providence.  The 4 p.m. crossing will allow people to enjoy Yarmouth for almost one more day!
The weekend getaways to Yarmouth should be possible again!  I have been sharing the news with everyone with positive results.  And, once a person visits for even a weekend, they will be sure to come back again and again!
